273 pearl lots to be sold
at Mid-Year Gems Emporium
YANGON, 7 OCT—Altogether 1,436 gem
merchants—701 foreigners from 145 companies of 11 countries and 735 locals from
305 companies—are attending the 2005 Mid-Year Gems Emporium being held at the Myanma Gems Mart on Kaba Aye
Pagoda Road here.
The foreign merchants are 577 from
the People’s Republic of China, four from Singapore, 90 from Thailand, ten from
Japan, one from Sri Lanka, five from Canada, three from India, two from
Republic of Korea, two from Italy, three from Australia and four from Malaysia.

observed jade, jewellery and pearl lots put on
display there today.
Under the 2005 Mid-Year Gems
Emporium programme, altogether 273 pearl lots
including pearl lot No 253 which comprises 113 pearls of world market quality
will be put on sale tomorrow.
Pearl lots of the 2005 Mid-Year Gems
Emporium attract more foreigners than those of the previous emporia, and more
foreign merchants will arrive here until 9 October.
