Senior General Than Shwe sends message of congratulations to Chinese President

YANGON, 15 Oct—On the occasion of the successful launch of the People’s Republic of China the second manned spacecraft Shenzhou-6 on 12th October 2005, Senior General Than Shwe, Chairman of the State Peace and Development Council, has sent a message of congratulations to His Excellency Mr Hu Jintao, President of the People’s Republic of China.

 

13th Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competitions continue

YANGON, 14 Oct — The 13th Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competitions continued for the second day at the designated places today.

Present on the occasions were Member of the Panel of Patrons of the Organizing Committee for the Competitions Minister for Culture Maj-Gen Kyi Aung, Vice-Chairman of the Leading Committee Deputy Minister for Culture Brig-Gen Soe Win Maung, Chairman of the Work Committee No 3 Military Region Commander Col Tint Hsan and members, officials of the sub-committees, maestros and people.

Chairperson of the Panel of Judges Assistant Director (Music) Daw Tin Tin Mya of Myanma Radio and Television, Secretary Assistant Engineer Daw May Pyone Khaing and members supervised the singing contest at the National Museum.

A total of 13 contestants from States and Divisions took part in the higher education level women’s religious song contest, and 14 children in the basic education level (aged 5-10) boys’ classical and modern song contest. On 15 October, the professional level men’s classical song contest and the basic education level (aged 15-20) girls’ classical song contest will be held at the same venue.

At the National Theatre, 12 women took part in the amateur level women’s dancing contest and 15 contestants in the basic education level (aged 5-10) boys’ dancing contest. Chairman of the Panel of Judges Wunna Kyaw Htin U Sein Aung Min and members supervised the dancing contest. On 15 October, the amateur level men’s dancing contest and the basic education level (10-15 age) girls’ dancing contest will be held at the Theatre.

At State School of Fine Arts, 16 persons competed in the amateur level women’s and men’s song composing contest, and another 13 persons in the basic education level (10-15 age) song composing contest. The contest continues tomorrow. The contest was supervised by Chairman of the panel of judges Bogale U Tint Aung and members.

At Padonma Theatre, 11 participants took part in the basic education level (10-15 age) men’s solo orchestra contest, and eight contestants in the basic education level (5-10 age) boys’ solo orchestra contest. Leader of the panel of judges U Sein Hla Myaing and party supervised the solo orchestra contest. On 15 October, the higher education level (men’s) team orchestra contest will be held.

At Kanbawza Theatre, 12 persons of States and Divisions competed in the amateur level men’s violin contest, two girls in the amateur level women’s violin contest, four in the basic education level (15-20 age) boys’ violin contest, and four girls in the basic education level (15-20 age) girls’ violin contest. Chairman of the panel of judges Gitalulin U Ko Ko and party supervised the violin contests. Tomorrow morning, the professional level (men’s and women’s) Donmin contest and the basic education level (10-15 age) boys’ and girls’ Donmin contest will continue at the same venue.
